We checked in on 24/01/2026 and the shower in our room had no water coming from the outlet. Instead, it leaked from the heater box, which could be an electrical safety hazard. We told reception right away, but they said no technician would be available until the next day and there was no other room for us. So it couldn't be fixed that day, and a whole day of our stay was affected. We'd booked several weeks ahead, so the room should have been checked before we arrived, or the hotel should at least have helped us immediately or offered another arrangement. We tried to sort it out directly with the receptionist, but got no satisfactory solution. We're very, very disappointed.

Opening the window in room 405 meant getting hit by a terrible smell, and apparently all the rooms at the back have the same problem. I saw huge roaches twice during my three-night stay, and the staff made a lot of noise early in the morning. The older man working evenings was the only nice one. Everyone else looked unhappy, and they probably assume certain things about certain guests.

For the price, it compares quite well with the hotels here. It's right in the city center, and the service was friendly and good. The room size matched the Agoda specs, and the room, bed, and toilet were clean. The aircon was cold enough and the hot shower worked well.

The room has nice interior, and both the air conditioner and water heater worked well. Just be ready for the stairs, since the hotel has four floors and no elevator. The rooms also aren't soundproof.

The staff were kind and helpful, even going out of their way to clear up a parking misunderstanding we had outside the hotel. My wife and I stayed one night before leaving Sabah. It was a nice, quiet place, and the nearby markets and waterfront were an easy walk away.
