Sarang by the brook

Mr. Chen and Wawa were both lovely. Mr. Chen was warm and attentive, and Wawa was kind and helpful throughout our stay. We also appreciated how honest and helpful they were: I left my phone behind at checkout, contacted them, and Mr. Chen quickly asked Wawa to look for it. It was safe when I returned to Sarang by the Brook. The forest-facing setting felt peaceful and relaxing, with few insects around. Insect repellent was thoughtfully provided in case we needed it. Parking was sufficient and convenient. A very pleasant, trustworthy place, highly recommended. Also, Mr. Chen is very handsome!

Mr. Chen answered our WhatsApp messages promptly and was always helpful with questions. Wawa and the rest of the team were friendly and easy to deal with too. The room was comfortable and well maintained, with complete, convenient facilities. The peaceful, clean place is surrounded by nature, perfect for relaxing. We had a wonderful stay at Sarang by the Brook, enjoyed the hospitality, and would definitely love to come again.

We spent 2 nights here to unwind after a week in busy Kuala Lumpur, and it was a fantastic getaway. Mr Chen was a superstar host, sorting everything via Whatsapp. He picked us up from the station, which we really appreciated in a town with very few Grabs/Taxis, and suggested places to eat. The 24/7 pool was great, and we used it twice every day. Breakfast came with a fantastic Nasi Lemak, plus there was free bread and jam all day and night. You could also pay 2RM for some noodles. There’s a fridge for your beer and umbrellas for the rain, both welcome extras. The rooms are the best part, though you do need the air con. They’re basically steel tins, so when the sun heats the outside, the inside can turn into a furnace. The air con sorts that out. Waking up to the jungle view was incredible. We saw macaque monkeys playing and watched the mother of all thunderstorms from bed, a highlight. It’s about a 20 min walk to town, which is brilliant. It feels like a midwest american town from the 60s, with incredible street art. Worth wandering around for a few hours and seeing the rainbow temples too. Just a fantastic few days.

Great for a group trip, and the rooms were better than a campsite. There’s a pool in the middle, a pantry by the side, and free flow coffee, tea and bread for guests. The kitchen is well equipped and labelled, so it’s easy to find things. A patio by the pool has tables and chairs for group gatherings. The bed and bathroom were ok. I slept on the lower bed and thought it might be dusty, since my skin itched. I covered it with my friend’s bedsheet while sleeping.
