EST Bangsar & KL Sentral @ PenguinHomes

We love staying at EST. The location is convenient and the amenities are good. We booked a two-room suite with Luxury Suites Asia for a week in February this year, and the staff were good, thank you. The unit itself was a disappointment, though. It was old and dirty, with bad stains on the walls, sofa, furniture and sofa cushions. The kitchen sink and drain smelled bad the whole time. Some outlets were exposed, and others didn't work. Both AC controllers were stained and missing their battery covers. There was mold in the bathroom, and no floor mats were provided, making it very slippery when stepping out of the shower. The place clearly wasn't well maintained, and the overall experience was very disappointing. 😔

The security guards around the building made it feel secure, and check-in was smooth. My apartment was clean and spacious, and the gym and pool were clean too. For the apartment size and amenities, it was good value, and the LRT is close by. I'd consider staying again. The building is right next to Bangsar LRT, although the name makes it sound like it's at KL Sentral. It's actually a 17-minute walk to KL Sentral. I didn't find it that convenient by public transport for getting to Lalaport/B Bintang: it takes over 40 minutes, compared with about 10 minutes by Grab.

The apartment was clean and modern, and I really enjoyed my almost two weeks here. The pool and gym were well maintained too. The location worked well, especially with direct access to the LRT from the building, which made getting around KL easy. I'd definitely stay again.

My stay was good, but the fridge was empty and there was no drinking water. Having to head back out into the Kuala Lumpur heat to buy water right after checking in was exhausting.
