The receptionist was good, and there are halal places to eat nearby. The room phone didn't work, the study/night light was out, and the TV had no signal. Reception already knew about these problems and said repairs still wouldn't make them work. Sorting those issues out would help the hotel's image.

The room had only one small rubbish bin, and the TV offered just two channels. The mirror wasn't tinted on the outside, so people could see activity inside the room. The air-con controls had been bypassed and didn't work, and the hot and cold shower controls were bypassed too. It's quite far from town. The receptionist also hadn't seen the requests I'd sent by email when booking. When I asked for an extra blanket, I was told they only had a dirty one.

The air-conditioning worked well and stayed quiet overnight, and there was a restaurant next door so food was easy to find. My single room was small, though the TV had just one channel and the picture was so dark I could barely make it out. Fine for a night's sleep.

The room was basic and had no view. The online price said RM70, but at the counter I paid RM80 with the service charge. Our first room smelled of cigarettes. We asked to move, and the second seemed much the same to me, though the smell wasn't as strong after the staff member sprayed air freshener.

I stayed in a four-bedroom suite. Toiletries cost extra, but that was okay for one night. There was plenty of parking, and the bathroom was fine too.
