Kingston Hotel 2 Setapak

The location was poor for me, surrounded by car repair stalls with no food places nearby. For the same price, I’m sure there are better options in a more convenient area with better service. I booked four rooms, all of the same type, but one was smaller than the others. Every room was dirty, including the walls and bedding, and the locks all opened differently. None of the four rooms received housekeeping during my stay. Problems started on day one, and nothing was resolved despite my telling staff on the first night. One shower did not work. We reported it several times and were told someone would come to fix it, but no one took action.

Fatihah was the highlight of the service. She was friendly, professional, and so helpful that check-in and checkout both went smoothly. Thank you, Miss Fatihah and Mr Adib. At Kingston Hotel 2, the room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, with a calm atmosphere that suited relaxing after a long day. The facilities felt complete for the price.

The replacement room brought more problems: its key card wouldn’t open the door, so I had to go downstairs again for help, and the air-conditioning was so noisy that relaxing or sleeping was difficult. This followed a frightening incident in the first room. After I showered and rested on the bed briefly, there was a loud sound like an electrical explosion, then the room lost all power. I contacted the hotel right away and asked to move rooms. The first room was also dirty, and the towels smelled unpleasant, as if they had been used without proper washing. Disgusting. I paid a premium for a luxury room expecting comfort, cleanliness, and good service. Instead, the stay was frustrating and uncomfortable, with hygiene and safety concerns and service far below what I expected. Completely unacceptable for a luxury room. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Lina at reception was especially welcoming and helpful, and the customer service was excellent. The place felt comfortable and pleasant. There were plenty of parking spaces, and it was quiet at night. I only stayed for two days and one night, though, so I can’t be sure whether it’s always that way. It’s an affordable, comfortable hotel.
