The parking situation was a problem from the start: the unit had no parking, so I had to pay another RM300 a month, and the bay could flood when it rained. One of the lifts often broke down too. I also found out the electricity was billed at commercial rates, making it about twice as high as residential. When I asked the owner to change it, they told me I had to arrange it myself and pay RM1,800. The rent also went up by RM300 a year. During the tenancy, we discovered that a janitor employed by management, who we understood had no work visa, stole our belongings, including an iPad, an electric drill and one of my wife's dresses. At the end-of-tenancy handover, the owner complained about small details and said I had to pay to repaint all the walls. She pointed to peeling ceiling paint, even though I hadn't peeled it off; she seemed to expect the unit to look exactly as it did when I moved in two years earlier, without understanding wear and tear. I was told my deposit would only be returned next year because she was busy. I uploaded videos of the unit at the end of the tenancy so people can judge its condition and the deductions for themselves. There were far more problems than benefits. I just ended my tenancy, and I definitely won't rent C-23A-01 again.
