Matahari Residence

My single room had the basics I needed as a traveler: a bed, shower, mirror, and dresser. They also provided bread with peanut butter for breakfast. There’s public transport nearby, about a 10-15 minute walk away. A good place to sleep.

I got two good nights of sleep here, and it was surprisingly quiet despite being only two streets from KL’s hustle and noise. The mattress was great, and the rooms were a decent size. Shared bathrooms, but they were clean and good. The hallways are very cold, and fans blow that cold air into the rooms, where there’s also another fan. The walls have a contemporary style and are nicely painted. Staff were great and helped me plan my time in KL. Location is hard to beat: Matahari Lodge is about a three-minute walk from Chinatown and ten minutes from Central Market or the nearest metro station. That station is one stop from KL Sentral, the metro hub, and KLCC and Petronas Towers are about 15 minutes away by metro. I’d highly recommend it.

I’ve been to 23 countries and 63 cities, and this is the best accommodation I’ve stayed in. The single private room was extremely cheap, just $15, and Pasar Seni Station is less than a three-minute walk away. The agent spoke English quite fluently and helped me from the heart, really dedicated. I found no bed bugs and had nothing to criticize about cleanliness. There’s a 7-11, meaning CVS, right around the corner.

The room was excellent, the staff were friendly, and I have no complaints. Fantastic place to stay and worth the money. A must stay.
