Pacific Regency Hotel Suites

The room is large and the location is okay, but I really wouldn’t recommend booking this place. It’s the worst five-star hotel I’ve stayed in. There were stains on the bed and pillows, with hairs all over them. We wondered if the bedding had even been changed. The carpet was dirty too. The phone for calling a help line didn’t work, and no one picked up when we tried, the line was always busy. The shower gel dispenser was empty, and housekeeping had done a very bad job. Parking costs RM10 per day, and the lot was dark, dirty, and poorly maintained. The restaurant had few choices. Kids were running around and opening windows without any staff watching them, which felt dangerous. There are better three- or four-star hotels around with much better cleanliness and quality.

It felt a little understaffed when it got crowded, and some of the facilities were old. Still, I thought it was good value for money. We got a complimentary upgrade for a special occasion, and they let us check in early. The room was great, really spacious, and the location was good.

The room and bathroom were spacious, but both felt old and the room wasn’t very clean. Our window faced a building so close by that I couldn’t open the curtain without losing privacy. Check-in also took a long time. I paid RM10 a day for parking, so the stay didn’t feel worth it, and I wouldn’t return. I’ve stayed at other hotels in KL before, but this one won’t be on my list. Getting to the pool was awkward. You can’t use the same lift as for the rooms; you have to go through the lobby and take the lift beside it. People walked through wet from the pool, leaving the lobby slippery. I slipped and fell because of this. There was no staff at the pool, and you have to collect towels from the lobby. Some guests didn’t know that, and no one checked whether people had dried off before going back to their rooms.

The rooms are big, but badly maintained. Mine smelled mouldy, water leaked from the ceiling, and the air-conditioning and fridge were so loud. The linens were in such a state that God knows when they were last cleaned. I booked a non-smoking room, yet there were cigarette ashes in the toilet bin, which says a lot about the cleaning. When I asked to cancel or change rooms, the staff weren’t helpful. Management needs to check how housekeeping is doing its work. I’d never stay here with my kids.
