Penthouse on 34 - The Highest Unit and Best Views in Regalia & Private Rooftop Terrace

I booked a Deluxe Room with balcony at Penthouse 34 through Agoda for two nights, and the city view was stunning, especially after dark. The room was clean, roomy, and comfortable. I also loved the infinity pool and its skyline views, a great place to relax and take photos. The staff welcomed us warmly and even surprised us with a complimentary local dinner. It was great value and a memorable stay in Kuala Lumpur. Highly recommend!

The hostel isn't much of a social or party place, it's pretty low key. For a short city stay, though, I think the good points outweigh the drawbacks, and the price is hard to complain about. Rooms and common areas have amazing views, and the pool was amazing too. You can also use the gym in another block of the complex. There's a self-service laundry and a small shop in the building, which is really handy. A metro station is a few minutes' walk away, so getting to and from the airport and Batu Caves is easy. Reaching the main centre is a little less straightforward, but fine. The filtered water, aircon, hot showers, and kitchen were nice to have. I think the hostel could use some maintenance and a deep clean. Finding it and checking in was a bit complicated. They give you a PDF with step-by-step instructions, so read it carefully before you arrive and as you go.

We had planned to stay for four nights, but ended up leaving after just two. The place had a very strong mothball smell, almost like paint stripper, and it gave me headaches. The room felt very unclean too, with stained towels and poor cleanliness overall. Unfortunately, the stay was a big disappointment.

The room was okay, nothing special. I found the rooftop rule strange: even though it's shared, they don't let other people in, saying it's only for residents and not outsiders. I don't get why guests can't have their friends over. What are their friends meant to do, hang around in the lobby? They could just allow them to stay in the room, but no, they're acting as if it's the Burj Khalifa, the world's best observation view. So lame.
