The Royal Widad Residence

A modern, attractive place with decent facilities. There was a bad smell in some of the toilets near the level 2 conference rooms, though, and the hotel doesn’t provide complimentary breakfast for guests.

We stayed one night after an event at Dewan Perdana Felda ran late. The hotel is in a convenient location, but first-time visitors may have trouble finding the registration counter. You also need to know which tower your room is in so you can park near the right lift lobby. The room was basic, while the bathroom was surprisingly spacious and won me over. We had breakfast at the ground-floor cafetaria, which had a good selection of local food and delicacies. All in all, an enjoyable stay.

Our rooms were clean and fairly quiet, and you need your room key card to use the elevator to the guest floors. The hotel is connected to Gurney Mall, though finding the entrance can be confusing. When we visited, reception was at one end of the mall and the elevators to the rooms were at the other.

The rooms were clean and the furniture very good, with reasonable prices. There are various stores on the ground floor, a range of restaurants, and a fancy hotel restaurant with a library where you can read. The beautiful swimming pool also has a play area for kids. Recommended.
