OYO 822 Zande Motel Kuala Selangor

The room had plenty of space, and for the price it seemed reasonable. We only stayed last time to freshen up, though the toilet had a slight smell. There are lots of stairs you can't avoid, so it may not work for anyone with knee or leg problems.

Parking was hard to find because there are so few roadside spaces. Check-in also took nearly an hour: they couldn't locate our confirmed online booking, and three other people had the same problem. I suspect the receptionist was having trouble using the system rather than the booking itself being at fault. The room and bathroom smelled of sewage, making it difficult to sleep or shower. The TV was mounted too high, and its power point was inconveniently far from the bed.

The aircon stopped working about three hours after we arrived, and since the room we'd booked wasn't available, we had to move into a smaller one. The staff did try to help, and got an extra bed for our child. In the end, it was just OK.

I paid through the oyo app, but at arrival the Chinese uncle told me the place had nothing to do with Oyo. He asked me to cancel in the app and pay the walk-in rate, even though they still had Oyo bedsheets in the room. I regret not checking the reviews before checking in. The room was awful, the worst hotel experience I've had.
