Hotel O Teratak Samuderakita, Chalet & Guesthouse

There's a shop about five minutes from the chalet with lots of breakfast choices, including nasi dagang, nasi kuning, satay, pulut ikan, and all kinds of modern and traditional kuih. The place is interesting and sits opposite the beach. At night, you can hear the waves and the sound of seawater carried on the wind. I'd come back in the future.

The owners were kind and helpful, and the room was simple but comfortable. A lovely, very affordable place for a night by the sea.

The porch looks straight onto the beach, only about 10 meters away. Nearby local cafes and a convenience store are easy to reach on foot, and there are parking spaces, which is a big plus. These are basic beach chalets, not five-star rooms, but they’re clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Local-style food is easy to find; there isn’t really mainstream food around.

There’s plenty of local food nearby, and the chalets are generally kept in decent shape, though the owner should listen more closely to visitor feedback and invest in regular and preventive upkeep. The beach location earns four stars from me, but erosion has left very little sandy beach to enjoy. Global warming is real.
