The Payang Scout Hotel

The service was friendly, but the bathrooms needed a better clean. We also found cockroaches.

After staying here for three days, I got bed bug bites and a prolonged allergic reaction. I reported it to the front desk and asked for the bed or bedsheet to be changed, but nothing was done. I came back after a long day of work and found it still unchanged, even though I'd asked twice. Avoid Payang 5 if your room is in that building. There was lizard droppings and dead cockroaches in the bathroom. The drain didn't work, and the bathroom flooded after just a few minutes in the shower. The whole stay was terrible and disappointing. I've never had a reaction like this before, I'm still dealing with it, and I've seen the doctor THREE times. Stay away from this place.

A good option for the price, and I'd stay again. The location is handy for both the beach and the airport, with plenty of parking, practically right outside your room. The beds were comfortable, though the bathroom felt a bit dated.

Parking was still plentiful when we returned from dinner, unlike at some hotels. The location is excellent, near pantai Ketapang, restaurants, roadside stalls, and activities like ATVs and horse rides. Weekend traffic can get pretty bad because of the night market, though it's a lovely and interesting market to visit. The rooms are decent, but some furniture and facilities are old or faulty and should be replaced.
