The room was humid and poorly ventilated, and the floor tiles felt sticky. It's very cramped once you bring in your luggage, especially with a queen bed meant for two taking up most of the space. The TV only had channels TV 1-3. Noise came through easily from other visitors staying together, including footsteps, movement, conversations, and doors closing. It was especially disruptive at night. I was woken by it as early as 4.30am and until 5.30am on two nights in a row.

The location was great for my medical check-up at TMC, just a 5-minute walk, and CP foodcourt was 7 minutes on foot. It's near the main road and bus stop, easy to find, and the Google Maps pin is accurate. KIA is 15 minutes by GrabCar, AEON is 5 minutes away that way, and VivaCity takes 15 minutes. Miss Yenny, the owner, was very, very kind and friendly, and housekeeping was helpful too. The bedroom, bathroom, living room, kitchen, and garage parking area with four spaces were all absolutely clean. Wi-Fi was full speed, there were CCTV cameras in every corner, and the main house door and room doors used password locks, so it felt very safe. If you're staying with a group, try for a room on the second floor to avoid the noise and sleep more quietly. The owner can also lend you a plug adapter for phone chargers if you need one. hom2rex is easy to find and a really good choice if you want a clean, tidy room at a good price.

The place was clean and quiet, with very good amenities. It's close to Aeon mall and Timberland hospital, and the airport isn't far either. I'd stay here again.

It's a clean homestay, and the owner and staff are friendly. I recommend it for a short visit to Kuching, especially if you're going to Timberland for medical care. The hospital is very close, with food corners, a coffeeshop, pharmacies, and stores nearby. The TV could use more international channels, and it would be better if the kitchen could be used for cooking. Still, it's a good option for a short stay.
