On 13/08/2021 I officially hit 65 days living at Avida Hotel. I might hold the record for the longest stay here, just me, myself and I! 😘 Room 304 is the biggest, with two single beds and the nicest view. If you get lucky, you can watch the sunrise from the window. It’s a good place for quarantine. The Wi-Fi is not bad, though sometimes I had to call reception to restart it, maybe because lots of people were quarantining there. If you need to watch your diet, tell them beforehand so they don’t bring food you can’t eat. Aside from that, all good. The smoking area is up on the roof, which is also a nice spot to exercise and get some sun 😎. For a corner-lot hotel I’d give it four stars. It would’ve been three, but the hotel manager’s interaction with guests brought my rating back up. Ask for Sarah and you’ll be in good hands. Have a good stay, and try to beat my record 😅

The location is good, but the bathroom glass seems cheap. A small knock against the sink was enough to make it break apart, so be careful around things in the room. They don’t have a water dispenser, though guests do get a free 500ml bottle of water and small packets of coffee. There’s room service, but ants still showed up in the room. The air-conditioner worked, though from the picture of mine it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.

I’ve travelled a lot during the pandemic, which meant quarantining too, and this was the best place I found for it. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food was great compared with the other quarantine hotel. So far I haven’t found another place that treated guests better.

It’s a quiet spot with plenty of privacy, and parking was easy to find. The old rain trees nearby give the area lots of shade. The rooms are aging and past their prime, though, and the price feels a bit high next to newer hotels in the area.
