We spent two nights at Langkawi Tok Jah Guest House and had a very pleasant stay. The room was well maintained and had everything we needed. The place was clean, comfortable, and peaceful, and the polite, friendly host made us feel welcome right away. It's also convenient for getting around Langkawi. Great value for money, and I'd happily stay again and recommend it to other visitors.

The location was the only thing I liked. I booked after seeing the good reviews, but the room I got didn't match the pictures on the booking app: no view or balcony, messy stains all over the walls, and little bugs and lots of mosquitoes. In 15 minutes I nearly killed five mosquitoes and had already been bitten four or five times. Staff said they couldn't do anything because it was the area, and told me to use the anti-mosquito spray in the room. The bright lights could attract even more bugs, and the bathroom had an open window that couldn't be shut. I was petrified thinking about bugs getting in at night. Other travelers in a WhatsApp group said they hadn't had mosquito problems on Langkawi. I left for another hotel instead of staying. For what you get, it's very expensive.

A cheap, simple room with AC and a separate bathroom. Clean and functional, and only a three-minute walk to the center.

The room was spacious and had air conditioning, though the bathroom was a bit small. The location is great, about a five-minute walk from the city center, with street food nearby. My only complaint is the lack of soundproofing. The neighborhood dogs and cats seem to party every night.
