We loved the village feel during our four-night stay with our three little kids. Chenang beach was only about a five-minute walk away, and parking was very spacious. The room was simple but clean, and when an issue came up, the staff really went out of their way to help. The price was affordable for us. I’d happily recommend it and come back.

We liked it so much that we extended our stay. The rooms are simple and clean, the garden is lovely, and the cats are sweet. It’s very quiet but still close to the beach, with good restaurants nearby and a really friendly atmosphere. Great value for the money.

The staff at reception were nice, and Rao's banana leaf restaurant on the property was good. But I wouldn’t recommend staying here. My room had a huge mattress stain visible through the sheets, housekeeping didn’t change them, and one bed wheel was missing, so the bed lurched if I shifted the wrong way. There was also no proper way to ask for cleaning, so I had to go to reception. The basic bathroom got wet all over when I showered and quickly became dirty. The WiFi barely worked in the room, though it was usable at reception, where we had to sit to book onward flights. I got covered in mosquito bites. When we arrived, the room was full of mosquitoes and we spent the first hour chasing them. A big gap under the door also let in noise and mosquitoes. I’d assumed the short walk from the main street would mean quiet, but the room was so poorly built that we heard everything: motorcycles with loud exhausts, cockerels at dawn, birds, noisy but cute cats, and our neighbours. There were no taxis early in the morning when we needed to leave. Luckily, another traveller had booked one for the airport and we could go with him. Thanks, Elias, if you ever read this. If this were the only place available, I’d rather skip Langkawi.

The room was clean and fairly spacious, and connected rooms are available if you’re travelling with family. We stayed two nights and found the Chenang location convenient for being near the area without the crowds. You can walk to Chenang beach, though I’m not sure of the exact time. There’s a little fridge, towels, and small bottles of bath foam and shampoo, but they weren’t enough for our group of three, so bring your own. Muslim guests should know there’s no Sejadah in the room. They also offer activities, with details in pamphlets at reception.
