Tanjung Rhu Resort

The resort is quiet, the beach was very clean, and we often seemed to have it to ourselves. We really appreciated the privacy. Our suite faced the sea, the pools and grounds were beautiful, and the food was decent. The facilities, rooms, service and amenities were all incredible. I loved how relaxing it was and didn’t want to leave. It’s quite remote, so to visit other towns you’ll need to arrange a car through the hotel or take a Grab car. All the staff were helpful and welcoming. Thanks to the TRR team for making our anniversary memorable, especially Hafiz, Amirul and Fatihah. We’d stay again.

The private beach is beautiful and secluded, with calm waves. There’s a pool for kids and families, and a separate pool and bar for adults. You can choose between three restaurants depending on the kind of experience you want. Our room was on level 3, and the porters carried our luggage up and down. There’s no lift, so anyone with mobility needs should ask for a GF room. It was very hot, around 28-32 degrees Celsius. The customer service was very friendly. The resort is within walking distance of the Mangrove/Kilim Geoforest park jetty, where the tours start and finish. Shared trips start at RM$60 per person, while a charter boat costs $350 and up. Grab rides and food delivery are available. We hired a car at the airport. The speed limit is mostly 60 kmph, and there are many motorbikes and villages along the way, so drive carefully.

The calm stretch of beachfront made it easy to unwind, and the team’s attentive hospitality really stood out. Breakfast service was the one letdown, as the staff there seemed a bit indifferent. I’d already tried the facilities on a day pass during an earlier Langkawi trip, so staying at Tanjung Rhu Resort this time felt like a must. The stay itself was more comfortable than I expected, and I’ll definitely come back.

The waiter was warm and attentive, and the dinner was beautifully organized from the moment I arrived. We had a private dinner right on the beach, with another table some distance away that didn’t really intrude. It was a lovely evening, and I’d recommend it for a honeymoon or anniversary.
