Marina Island Lumut Homestay by Goopro

The sea view was lovely, and there was enough room for my family to spend time together. We stayed for two nights, and my mum's wheelchair was accommodated without any trouble. Check-in was very easy, with clear instructions. The apartment had a TV with limited channels, a sofa, dining tables, shower foam, a kettle, small fridge, hair dryer, and some plates, cutlery, glasses, and cups. There was no stove or microwave for cooking or reheating food. A few things needed fixing in the bathroom: the door was detached from its frame at the bottom, shower water didn't drain properly and left the floor wet, and the bathtub tap had something like clay stuck to it. A ceiling fan in the dining area would help, since the air conditioning is only in the living hall. The pool was there but didn't seem well maintained, with murky water and more detached tiles than attached ones, which felt dangerous. Still, the paddle boat and kayak were available at a very reasonable price. It was an okay family staycation.

The balcony was spacious and had a superb view, though it was dirty. The apartment itself was uncomfortable day and night: there was no ceiling fan, and the small air conditioner couldn't cool the combined living and dining room. The TV was about the size of a computer screen. At RM230 per nite, I expected Netflix and YouTube, but neither was available. The furniture was old, with some pieces needing repair or replacement. When I reported TV problems, the owner gave me a blue tick. We checked out early the next morning and went back to KL. It wasn't an enjoyable holiday for me and my family. Thanks for the view, but I wouldn't stay there again or recommend it.

The apartment was spacious and clean, though the layout felt a little odd, with every light switch by the entrance. Check-in was just a keypad pin, which worked, but I would've preferred a key or keycard. The rainfall shower had very poor water pressure, there were ants near the sink, and although Astro TV channels were listed, I couldn't get them to work. The location was okay, right beside the marina jetty, which was convenient.

The room was really clean, and there were plenty of parking spaces near the lift. It was easy to find with the waze apps, and the homestay owner or customer service contact who helped me was very helpful. I checked out at 1.15 pm instead of before 12 pm, but management didn't charge me. I'll definitely stay here again soon!
