Doubletree by Hilton Melaka

The breakfast was great, the bed was comfortable, and the staff were attentive. Maintenance handled things efficiently too. During the busy breakfast rush, when the hotel was packed with guests, I saw the staff and manager working professionally as a team. Good job, I’ll definitely be a loyal Doubletree customer. My only complaint is that the hot water in our room was still cool.

The bed was comfortable, and the room was awesome, with a spacious bathroom and bathtub, very clean, and good water pressure. I regret not choosing a different pillow as recommended, because this one was too soft and I woke up with neck pain. Service was alright. The Italian restaurant, Tosca, was also just alright. The Carbonara and desserts were disappointing, though the service there was really good. Breakfast was good, but there seemed to be a huge number of carb options and hardly any meat, which left me pretty disappointed.

We had a fun short stay, and fireworks were visible from the bedroom windows at night during the CNY period. The staff were friendly. The room had several phone charging points, a firm mattress and pillows, and strong shower pressure. The breakfast had a good variety, with the soup noodles and roti canai stations standing out. The air conditioning kept stopping at night, though, and the room got warm unless there was movement. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

We spent 6 nights here as a family of 4, and there was plenty of room, including in the bathroom. The interior is a bit dated, but everything was clean and tidy. The people were laidback and the service was amazing, and the food was good too. Get the local cuisine, that’s the best thing to eat. It’s a little farther from places like the market, about a 15-minute walk, or you can take a Grab for really cheap. Parking is free. Highly recommended.
