I don’t often leave reviews, but I hope this saves someone else the trouble I had. I booked through Agoda on 8 November at around 1:00 AM because I needed somewhere to stay immediately. The listing didn’t say the property was full that night or that check-in would only be possible the next day at 3:00 PM. Had that been clear, I wouldn’t have booked. After the reservation went through, I contacted the property to arrange check-in. They told me every room was occupied and I couldn’t check in. I’d paid for a booking I couldn’t use, and ended up stranded in the middle of the night without a place to stay. When I asked management for help and an explanation, their response was unhelpful and inflexible. They pointed to standard policies, didn’t acknowledge the availability information on Agoda, and offered neither a solution nor a refund. Allowing bookings when there are no rooms available shows a serious lack of transparency and responsibility, and refusing to deal with the situation fairly made it worse. Please double-check availability with the hotel before booking, since the online information may not be accurate. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, improves how it communicates with booking platforms, and handles guest issues with more professionalism and empathy. This was an extremely unpleasant experience. I can’t recommend the property to anyone who values honesty, clear information, and good customer service.

Free parking, and there are plenty of places nearby to get breakfast or lunch. Check-in went smoothly, and I was pleasantly surprised to get a better room. There wasn’t anyone on the ground floor to direct me, so I had to find my own way up to reception. All in all, a nice place to stay.

The location is a big plus: Eco Tree Hotel is in a lively area, close to attractions, food, and shopping, and handy for exploring in spare time. It’s a good base for leisure or business. The hotel also has a gym, which is a useful extra for keeping up a fitness routine while traveling. I stayed two nights and found this mid-budget hotel a better fit than I’d expected. The staff were friendly and professional from arrival, happy to answer questions about local attractions and quick to help at the front desk. There are different budget room options, which gives walk-in guests and other travelers some flexibility. My room was soundproof and cozy, with a practical layout, comfortable bed, and warm lighting that gave it a modern, inviting feel. The bathroom was spacious, clean, and well equipped, including a large bath that was nice for unwinding. I also enjoyed the hotel’s dinner and breakfast buffets. There was plenty of choice, the food was fresh and flavorful, and both local favorites and international dishes were available. Breakfast set me up well each morning, and dinner in the hotel lounge was relaxing and satisfying. For a mid-budget stay, the balance of price, comfort, and convenience worked well. The location is crazy nice, close to everything while still being comfortable. I’d gladly stay at Eco Tree Hotel again.

Dirty, with stains in the toilet. The bedsheet hadn’t been changed. It didn’t feel like a 4 stars hotel, and the facilities were poor. Left me feeling sad.

Best, we really enjoyed our staycation and would come back if we’re in Melaka again. The breakfast was decent for the price. Hehe. There are mirrors everywhere, love it! 🤣
