The room was old, though the bed was comfortable and the heater worked. The toilet was a bit dirty. For the low price, don’t expect much. Lunch and dinner places aren’t close, though there’s a breakfast place right in front of the hotel. There’s no lift, so even getting to the second floor means taking the stairs. Walking back at night felt scary with the shops closed. Definitely not a place I’d recommend for women.

We got into Melaka around 3am, and the other budget places in Jonker and nearby were shut, or the person at the counter was asleep and didn’t wake up when I rattled the locked glass door or rang the bell. This place was open, and the taukeh let us bring our bicycle inside. He was a very friendly, English-speaking unker. The room was clean, with air conditioning, hot water, fresh towels, and a comfy bed. It’s close to markets and places to eat.

From the room on level 4, we had a view over the area. The hotel is in the center of Melaka, with lots of shop lots nearby. The staff were friendly and did their best to look after us.

The staff seemed like religious fanatics and couldn’t communicate well. The place felt unsafe and wasn’t what you’d expect from the surroundings. It came across as a red-light hotel, more for short stays or day use, with people bringing in hookers and immoral girls. It was an eyesore and a turnoff. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, and it’s not worth a star.
