Love Guest House

The bed was comfortable and the staff were nice, but I don’t think I’d come back. There were stains on the wall and couch, plus hair that wasn’t from my family. A huge cockroach was in the bathroom when I went in. The clothes rail fell out of its place, and there was a yellow powdery substance we assumed was rust. The location is awesome, right at Jonker Walk, with shops and places to eat a short stroll away. Parking is the downside. My husband dropped me at the stay, then had to find a safe place elsewhere to park overnight for RM20 and walk back. My room had no window, so I felt a bit suffocated, and the space was very tight for a Muslim to pray. I was only there for one night, so it didn’t cause me many difficulties.

I tried a last-minute budget booking and it backfired. The smell is overpowering, so I can’t rest, work, or eat here. There’s no fresh air or sunlight anywhere in the place. It reeks like a hoarder’s house, with ancient wrecked carpets, moldy wallpaper, lots of stale cigarettes, and actual piles of junk. Check my photos. The windows open onto dark stairwells that used to be air wells but have somehow been roofed over. Some look out onto piles of ? At RM 145, it’s twice what similar places cost. I should’ve just booked a hostel capsule.

Thomas is friendly and helpful. The rooms downstairs feel a bit too small to be comfortable, especially with an extra single bed. Parking is the other issue, though that’s common with Jonker hotels. So travel light if you stay here!
