Jetty Suites Apartments

The location is convenient, close to the shopping mall and massage parlours, but my room in block 2 level 10 was run down. The wallpaper was peeling, the freezer was full of frost, the shower hose was broken, and the ironing board looked dirty and mouldy. There was also a big lizard. Our access card wouldn’t open the side gate, so we had to ask for it, and one of the room’s electrical plugs didn’t work. The gym aircon was broken and wouldn’t turn on.

We stayed elsewhere in the Mahkota Hotel complex, not at Jetty Suites. It’s very much a family place, with a cool, refreshing pool and plenty of parking, though finding your way around the lot is a bit of a maze. It’s not as convenient on foot because the roads are tricky to cross. The centre isn’t far, and the large malls are closer.

The kids will love the pool, and the units are well maintained with good amenities. This affordable service apartment is in the heart of Malacca and is run by Mahkota Hotel next door. You can pick a sea or city view, and I’d suggest the sea view if you can. There’s plenty of guest parking, though the area looks a bit run down, like much of the apartment blocks’ exterior. It’s a shame, since the units themselves are clean and well kept.

The apartment is okay and suits families, or even a romantic stay. There’s free wifi, parking is easy, and a mini mart is nearby. It’s also close to the city of Melaka. If you like to soak, sink, and surface, there’s a pool too.
