There’s a great Chef Wan cafe, and the breakfast selection is good. Shops right outside the hotel include a grocery mart, restaurants and a pharmacy. The hotel is about 3 km from the city centre, and the rooms and service were satisfactory. The shopping centre inside the hotel is limited and disappointing. Getting a lift can be a nightmare. We waited 12 to 15 minutes, and there are only four lifts for this high-rise hotel. Management should consider assigning two lifts to the upper floors and the other two to the lower floors.

The room we stayed in was an ihousing unit, and it was poorly maintained. There was mold in the washroom, and the whole unit smelled of cigarette smoke, including the mattresses, pillows, linens and sofa. We asked maintenance to spray the place, but they brought two gel sticks instead. In the end, we spent $50 at the mall store on supplies, including fabric freshener, to deal with the problems. There was no hot water or hand soap, and the sheets were stained. The tower mall itself is nothing special, though it has clean washrooms on every floor. The arcade looked fun for young children, but the aquarium didn’t seem like much of an attraction. The food hall had only three stalls, so we stuck with KFC for a quick meal.

The place is easy to find. We went to Chef Wan Restaurant, where the drinks were great, though some dishes could be better. The staff were friendly and knew their stuff.

Near the town, with a nice view by the Malacca River. The lifts get too complicated on weekends and public holidays.
