Timez Hotel Malacca

We'd come back to Timez if we're in Melaka again. It's close to Jonker street, but set just outside the busiest stretch, so it stays away from the street noise and buzz. The room was clean, and the front desk staff were approachable, friendly, and helpful. I liked that the entrance stays locked and you need a hotel card to get in. Breakfast was simple but filling, too.

Aman at reception deserves a special mention. He was welcoming, always smiling, and ready to help. Our six days at Timez were lovely, with a comfortable bed, a great shower, and good aircon. Room 303 was clean, and they topped up the tea, coffee, and water every day. The outdoor shared terrace on the third floor was nice to use. It's very near Jonker street, while still being quiet. We enjoyed the location, room, and service, and would highly recommend Timez in Melaka.

The location is hard to beat, with the night market around the corner and surprising quiet. We also got free snacks, complimentary breakfast for longer stays, warm service, and a cozy room. For this price and area, it may be the best option, and I might stay again for the location. Just know you get what you pay for. We were in 101 Cherki Room. The property is showing its age. Paint was peeling in lots of places and there was a damp smell. Some fittings seemed quality, like the grohe taps, but the cheap plastic toilet seat was crooked and so small it felt like a toddler's seat, with one side higher than the other. There was a big dried glob of phlegm on the curtain beside the bed, which was disgusting. Bedding was sparse and the mattress was a disaster. Also, the owner seems to love putting up notices, they were everywhere.

Right in the middle of Jonker street, with friendly staff and even free breakfast. The location is excellent. The room, though, felt a bit dumpy, maybe because it's an old building, and it isn't large. More than three people would feel crowded. It wasn't a cheap hotel, and I felt that everything in Melaka was overpriced.
