Mega Hotel Miri

The food was tasty, and the ground staff made me feel welcome. The hotel had a clean, calming smell that felt luxurious. I felt comfortable, secure, and at ease everywhere I went and with everything I used at Mega Hotel. I had no bad experiences at all.

This was our second stay. The room was big and the toilet clean, though the hotel feels quite old. We tried adjusting the aircon, but the controls didn’t work well. The lift has been upgraded, but the lighting inside is strong. Breakfast had a good range and lots of fruit, plus lamb but no chicken. The tom yum soup was spicy and tasty. Parking was confusing, but there was CCTV, which made us feel protected.

I’ve stayed twice, and for the price there isn’t much to complain about. The basement parking was good, as was the breakfast buffet selection, and they refilled the food quickly. The pool was clean and good to use. The rooms could be cleaner. There was dust on the floor, though it was cleared the next day. The location is very central, close to Bintang Mega Mall, Imperial Mall, and Times Square. Mega Hotel has my vote for a third stay.

The location is very good, and I want to compliment the girl at check-in. She was warm and readily helped us. The male and female supervisors in the cafe were also exceptions to the poor service I experienced. Most staff rarely smiled, especially in the cafe. I was also disappointed by the housekeeper’s attitude when I asked to have my room made up. The response was impolite and a bit rude. I suggest management give the staff hospitality training to improve their service and communication.
