Jin Hotel

The staff responded quickly when problems came up, which was the one good part. But the lift was out of service, so I had to take the stairs. The room's power outlets were faulty, the electricity was unstable, and the hairdryer was broken. It was a very frustrating stay.

I booked a queen room with a window two months in advance, but got a double single bed in the middle of the hall instead. When I went to the counter, the receptionist gave an invalid reason, had a bad attitude, and told me to go ahead and cancel: “you cancel lah.” The room was small and dark, phone reception was weak to nonexistent, and the previous occupant's rubbish hadn't been cleared. The walls and ceiling were moldy. Rude service, dirt, and a dangerous feel summed up the place.

I stayed one night because I had plans nearby the next day. The room was great, the staff friendly, and they provided bottled water and the basics. Water pressure and air conditioning were good too. Cleanliness needs work, though. There were pee stains on the toilet bowl, a few ants on the sink, and one on the bed. I'm a bit of a clean freak about public toilets, so I cleaned the seat before sitting. Good thing I always carry alcohol wipes, sanitizer and disposable toilet seat covers in my bag, hahaha.

The location was nice, with plenty of free parking, but I was disappointed by the cleanliness. There was hair all over the toilet and the water drained too slowly. I called reception to ask for housekeeping and was told it was only available until 5 p.m. After a while, I saw a woman cleaning another room and asked her to clean mine. I was surprised, since reception had said housekeeping had already gone home. That was disappointing.
