Fame Hotel

Our wedding should have been a special, happy occasion, but this became a stressful and very bad hotel experience. We booked a room and held the wedding in their ballroom, yet the room condition was poor and didn’t meet expectations. The biggest problem was getting our deposit back. The hotel kept delaying the return, and we had to follow up repeatedly and chase them for our own money. Management’s responses were disappointing and unprofessional, with a poor attitude and little sense of responsibility instead of proper communication. For such an important event, this was the worst hotel experience for us. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel because of the poor management and bad customer service.

The room was good, and for a low price for a 1-day stay, the issues were manageable. Still, the bathroom needs maintenance. It smelled, the sink pipe was corroded, and the sink was clogged.

We booked two nights, and both rooms had major problems. One had no towels, no aircon remote, only one bottle of water, and a strange damp smell, as if it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The air conditioning didn’t work in either room. We waited about 30 minutes for help. When we asked to switch rooms, the front desk told us to wait again. The next day our door wouldn’t open, so we had to go back to the front desk. At night there was no parking because the hotel rents its venue for weddings. It seems they focus more on events than hotel upkeep. When we took the lift, its doors opened onto wedding flower stands, so we had to use the stairs to get to our room. The wedding also made it extremely noisy at night, and we couldn’t rest properly. The Fame Hotel was a terrible experience. Poor maintenance, poor management, and a very noisy environment. Definitely not recommended at all.

We left all three rooms the same day because none of us felt safe or comfortable staying there. The photos online gave a very misleading impression. I contacted the supposed manager, Saravanan, by email and got no reply. Subha, whom I spoke to about another issue, and Saravanan both seemed to care very little about customer satisfaction. There was no genuine apology, and my refund request still hasn't been dealt with. Avoid My Fame Hotel if you don't want to lose your money. We had booked three rooms for 15 November. A strong musty smell hit us in the corridor and was just as bad inside the rooms. One room also smelled of cigarettes despite being on a floor marked smoke-free, and its air conditioner leaked, leaving a puddle on the floor. There was visible mould on the walls and throughout the bathroom. The coffee cup tray was covered in white stains, and the bedsheets were stained too. These were obvious signs of poor care and maintenance. We didn't use the rooms at all. We checked into Bilik Bilik by MUO instead, where the cleanliness, service, rooms and hospitality were a complete contrast. I'd suggest staying there on a future visit to Seremban.
