You really can get away from city life here. It’s tucked deep in the mountains with a nice view, and the open air room has no walls separating you from nature. We didn’t have much trouble with bugs or mosquitoes at night after lighting the mosquito coil. The room and pool felt good too. There’s no air conditioning, and mobile reception is very weak. Calls were fine, but browsing the internet wasn’t really possible. The place needs better upkeep. Our bidet pipe leaked, the washbasin had no drain, the kitchen tap was corroded, and the wooden ceiling showed signs of leakage from upstairs. There was also a stinky, shitty smell. The door had no usable lock, and the garden table and chairs were very dirty, like they hadn’t been maintained for a long time. The Google Maps location is wrong. I tried to edit it, though I’m not sure whether Google will approve the change since I’m not the business owner.

We spent a lovely time playing games and bonding as a family, and even saw a rainbow after the evening rain. The forest view from our room was stunning and soothing. We felt as if we had the whole place to ourselves, with only one other guest downstairs. The nights were peaceful, apart from the loud cicadas. The staff prepared a delicious breakfast, and the salty pool water was refreshing. The owner was available by phone whenever we needed help. The only downside for us was the small bed and the thin mattresses for the kids, but we still left with memorable moments and would recommend the place to people we know. It’s also worth mentioning this is the only resort owned by a Malay Muslim. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

We first contacted the resort directly and got no reply, so we quickly booked through booking.com and paid in full. Later that day, the operator called and asked us to cancel and get a refund because they couldn’t accommodate us. Really disappointing. Would I book again? Nah. There are plenty of similar resorts in the area, though I’m not very likely to explore it now. For a high-premium resort, I expected a responsive, accommodating, pleasant experience starting with the booking process.

The clean place has everything you need if you’d rather cook, including the utensils. Getting into town for food does mean travelling a little. I’m in love with the breathtaking view. As promised, you get to stare endlessly at the sky above the forests. Great for team building or group trips.

We had fun, and I wouldn’t mind coming back, though I might try another room. Management was friendly and helpful, and mostly left us to enjoy our space unless we called. There’s no onsite concierge, so you have to call and give them time to get back to you. We stayed in the Hornbill Terrace, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit. The view was fantastic, and even though other resorts are around, it still felt quite isolated. There wasn’t much security, per se, but I felt pretty safe, and the place was clean. The outer bathroom’s heater had a problem. Management couldn’t fix it right away because the electrician was some distance away, which I could understand given how isolated it is. The website showed oil, but none was provided, and they apparently hadn’t updated that part. We had salt, sugar, and cooking utensils. When we ran out of gas on the second night, they brought a backup within 10 minutes, so that wasn’t too bad. The pool was smaller than I imagined, only about 3.5-4 feet deep. It was fine for splashing around, but definitely not serious competitive swimming. The nearby trek and waterfall were inaccessible because of a recent landslide.
