Greetings and love from Libya. Thirteen years ago, I travelled to Kuala Lumpur to study English at the EMIC Institute in the Heritage Building and stayed at the East Lake Consortium. I remember those as wonderful days with friends and colleagues. We went on lots of trips to Langkawi, visited all the amusement parks and rides, and explored markets like Minus and South City Plaza. We also had delicious coffee at Starbucks, Old Town, and other places.
The apartment is spacious, and the security guards are good, friendly, and respectful. Still, the place feels dark and unsafe. The rubbish chute is a problem too. It’s in a room, and you have to open and close it quickly because it stinks and roaches run out.
Some units are good, with a nice view and good security, but there are lots of roaches and mosquitoes. The gym isn’t good: it has about four machines, and it’s not clear, new, or deep. There’s only an old basketball area.
The atmosphere here is amazing. It’s a nice place, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Service is pretty good.
It’s a nice spot to hang out outside in the breeze, and the beer is cheap. I tried a couple of stalls, with mixed results. The satay tasted good, but felt like a rip-off because there was hardly any meat on each skewer. The Vietnamese pork skewer snack looked nothing like its picture and was far too salty to eat. I’ve heard good things about other stalls, though.
