Swing & Pillows @ Apple Hotel Shah Alam

At 60 Ringgit a night with free parking, it was good value as long as you keep your expectations in line with the price. The room was tidy but tiny, with no TV, wardrobe, or window. I didn’t look around much, but I don’t think the hotel itself has food options. There are plenty of places nearby for eating in or takeaway, including a McDonald's.

I was in Shah Alam for a one-day business trip at UiTM Shah Alam, and chose this hotel because it’s nearby. The booking was really cheap, so I didn’t expect much, but for a budget hotel it was quite nice. I’m not picky, and it was good enough for a short visit. I’d stay again if I have another short trip. The room looked more spacious in the Agoda photo than it was in person, with very little room to walk around. There was a chair but no table, so eating meant sitting on the floor. They did provide free coffee, creamer, sugar, and bottled water, which was nice. There was an ironing station in the hallway too. The bathroom was spacious enough for me, and the door seemed tight and waterproof. The shower head was annoying, though, because it pointed at the wall. If I moved it, the water hit the door, so I had to position it carefully to stop water spilling out. The air-conditioning was noisy at times and took a while to cool the small room. It also wasn’t soundproof, so I could hear sounds outside. There were no windows, but I knew it was raining heavily from the thunder. The bedsheets seemed a little dirty. It didn’t bother me much since I barely noticed it, but some people might want to consider that before booking. The hotel is among neighbourhoods and schools, so traffic gets crazy in the morning when trying to book a ride. There’s a laundromat, 7-11, and a few restaurants nearby, so food and drinks are easy to find. Just outside is a cute pink bakery and a food stand. The bakery seemed to open at 11am; the stand was still closed when I went out around 6pm, so it might open around dusk. My two nights were okay, neither great nor bad.

It’s a small room, but fine. The location is great, parking is ample, and food is within walking distance.

Everything at the property was good, from the rooms to the service. Just keep in mind that you can’t enter the car unless you pay.
