I contacted the management office about the unresolved deposit, and they said they could not get involved between the owner and tenant. That was disappointing. Tenants are expected to follow the building's rules, procedures, and payment requirements, so I expected some support or accountability when a serious problem came up. Being told nothing could be done left me feeling unprotected and raised concerns about oversight at the property. I rented from this landlord for several years, completed my tenancy properly, and left the apartment in excellent condition without damage. Since the contract ended, I have asked several times for my security deposit, including through other apps. As of 2026, it still has not been returned, and I have had no response. When I politely asked about the refund, the communication turned hostile and unprofessional. I was a woman living alone in a foreign country, asking respectfully for what I believe is my legal right. Even if the deposit was not going to be returned for some reason, I deserved a clear answer. Instead, the silence and lack of transparency left me confused, uncertain, and emotionally distressed. This has made a lasting negative impression. Trust is a responsibility, and someone who does not respect other people's rights is not worthy of it.
