The rooms were well kept for the price, and the staff were helpful. Good value.

I spent three days and two nights here, and wouldn't recommend booking a single room because it isn't worth it. The place was tidy, the air conditioner worked well, and the bed was comfortable, but the shower water ran so slowly I couldn't enjoy a bath, which I usually like to do at hotels. Although Google Maps lists it as a four-star hotel, the water pump didn't work properly, there was no toilet paper, and they charged around RM30 for a service fee, which felt inappropriate given these conditions. I could also hear loud doors closing even at 10 p.m., and that made me uncomfortable.

The water pressure was low and the water brown when I checked in around 3:50 p.m. I called reception to ask for another room, but was told the same thing affected rooms on levels 3-5. The water pump had a problem, and we were asked to wait for the dirty water to drain from the tank before clean water came through. The issue still wasn't fixed by 7 p.m., so management should check the pump before letting guests check in. Update: by late afternoon the next day, the water was much clearer and back to normal. Thanks to the maintenance team for sorting it out. The mattress was firm, which suited me, 5/5. The AC worked, 5/5. The body shampoo dispenser didn't work, 1/5, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel hair shampoo, especially for women, as it left my hair very dry. Bring your own. There was no bar of hand soap. The hair dryer was 4/5. You can ask room service for one, and they'll bring it to your room.

The firm bed worked fine for me, though that's personal preference. I also liked the wide selection of TV channels, including news and movies, which is unusual for a hotel of this grade. The room was clean, and the front desk staff were efficient. There are convenience stores and restaurants nearby, and the hotel is close to the Sungai Petani toll, which was handy for exploring the area. Private parking is limited, but there's a public car park nearby, just remember to pay the fee. One issue is that the windows don't block sound completely. My colleague was repeatedly woken by the nearby mosque's call to prayer around 5 a.m., and outside noise could affect other guests too.
