Hotel Sri Malim

The receptionist was nice, and this is a pretty decent budget hotel, but our first room wasn't great. The air conditioner didn't seem to work right, and the tissue roll hadn't been changed after the previous guests. We booked a different room later, and that one was better. Its AC worked okay.

Parking is plentiful in the public lot, and the staff were friendly. The room had good Wi-Fi and air conditioning, plus drinking water in normal, hot and cold options. Soap and a glass were provided, but there was no toothpaste, toothbrush or 3-in-1 coffee. Nearby you'll find food shops and a supermarket. You can hear people opening and closing doors. The bathroom lock in my room was broken, though it didn't bother me. If you're bored, install mytv on your phone; I also updated to Android TV for more choices. The rooms have been painted. The price is under RM100, and the RM50 cash deposit is returned after checkout.

For under RM100, you can get a spacious room with three beds, and shops and places to eat are close by. Parking is easy to find, although there's a daytime fee on weekdays. The room had a noticeable smell, no housekeeping during my stay, and the TV didn't work. If you just need an affordable place for the night and can live with those drawbacks, Sri Malim Hotel could work. A more comfortable stay would need some improvements.

Really disappointing and the receptionist was rude. My family had booked and paid for a stay, then changed the date after the receptionist said that was okay. When we arrived, they accused us of lying and said there was no booking for that date. We asked for a refund, but were told we could get only 4 ringgit back from the 138 we'd paid.
