Hotel Emas Tawau

Stayed one night at Hotel Emas. The amenities were good and cleanliness was well maintained, though the room itself felt a little old.

We booked early for the annual dinner, but management cancelled our reservation at the last minute without telling us. We only discovered it when we were about to pay. They seemed to give priority to people who paid more, even if they had booked later. Terrible handling of event dinner reservations. Not recommended.

I recently stayed in a deluxe room and everything was great apart from the TV, which needs an upgrade. The staff were helpful and polite, and I'll definitely stay again. Thank you to Adie and the two other male staff members on reception duty on 6 -7/8/25 for their great work.

The staff were polite and helpful, and the room was clean, but it needs maintenance. The faucet flow was very uneven, the lighting didn't work properly, and the doorbell was unresponsive. In the corridor, water dripped from the ceiling into a bucket someone had placed underneath. It's also hard to find a convenience shop nearby. Management should address these problems to avoid leaving tourists with a bad impression.
