Humula Beach Resort

The beach was amazing and surprisingly clean. The restaurant is nice, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The pool looks great, but because it's under the trees it needs regular cleaning, and the bar beside it isn't being used. The place could use some refurbishment, especially the woodwork, which seems to be getting worse.

The rooms were clean, and the staff and resort manager were very hospitable. I'm from South Africa, and staying here felt like being at home away from home. It would help to have more staff who speak English so communication is easier. Thanks for a great stay.

The beach was lovely, and the room had a comfortable bed, a well-equipped bathroom with a large bath, and a great balcony view. The walk to the rooms through the mangroves is beautiful, but the steep path has slippery, rotten boards that need replacing. Getting down to the beach means another long walk on rickety stairs, then passing an electric fence, a padlock and a security guard. Is all that necessary? It was a shame to jump through so many hoops to reach the best part. I'd guess 90% of guests never even see the beach. The large thatched bar and restaurant were nicely done, though they smelled damp. We stayed one night before returning to Maputo. The location was great, the staff friendly and the food good.

A quiet, lovely place right on the beach, with attentive staff, good value and access to the beach at any time of day thanks to a guard there. Nyasha, the manager, was especially responsive and informative at the front desk. The gym and spa aren't available, and guests should be told that upfront. I'd recommend staying here.
