I keep coming back to Ndhovu Safari Lodge for the atmosphere, the lodge grounds and the views. Every visit feels like a proper holiday. Staying in the Hippo Suite (River Suite 2) is an experience I won't forget. Thanks to Danny, Ralf, Alfred and the rest of the team for making each stay so memorable.

Pieter knew so much about the wildlife that the rest of our game viewing in Namibia and Botswana became far more enjoyable and informative. We saw plenty of wildlife, and hearing the lions roar and elephants trumpet was wonderful. This was easily our favourite place to stay on our trip through South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Thanks, Pieter. Deon and Nicole

We only had one night in the buffalo suite, which was a shame. From the outdoor swing bed, the river looks beautiful. We spotted buffalo, impala, elephants and plenty of hippos, and the forest owls kept calling while we waited for dinner. It was lovely to hear. The food was really tasty. We'll stay longer next time.

The parks nearby are very good. We stayed in the Lion Suite, a huge apartment with two bedrooms, a roomy bathroom, a big deck facing the Kavango River and an outdoor bathtub. Dinner is served family style for everyone at once, which makes it nice to chat with the other guests. The food was very good, but 7:30 is too late for the set mealtime. We didn't finish the heavy meal until 9:30, which isn't great when you're up early for a game drive.

There were hippos wallowing in the river less than 30m from our deck. The tented rooms are amazing, and the open-plan bathrooms have been furnished with care. I wish we'd had more than one night. This is a beautiful lodge, and I'll definitely be back.
