Bagatelle Kalahari Game Ranch

The cheetah experience took our breath away, and the safari was extraordinary, both for the animals we saw and how well it was organized. The setting itself was beautiful too. We had a really cozy room, the Wi-Fi worked quite well, and the food was great. Thanks for a wonderful stay, I’d happily come back ten more times.

The farmhouse food was amazing, and at least the staff there were great. The main lodge felt like a total rip-off for what you get, especially the bare savannah chalets, which are misrepresented on the website. If you want this kind of stay, I’d choose the farmhouse instead. To me, this didn’t feel like a genuine bush experience. It came across as a tourist ranch for Europeans and Americans who want to see animals without caring that many of them don’t belong in the Kalahari. The whole thing felt unnatural and unauthentic. Communication from staff was poor, and some were quite rude. We also went horse riding with severely uncomfortable saddles, and unfortunately learned nothing from the guide.

The sunset game drive was absolutely worth doing, and we really enjoyed our time at Bagatelle. We stayed at the campsite, which was fairly priced and well equipped. Wi-Fi is available at the main lodge and worked fine. The staff were kind, though the changed game drive time wasn't communicated to us. Luckily, we arrived earlier than expected.

Seeing wild giraffes right beside the pool over breakfast was magical. The cheetah and sunset drives were amazing too, especially getting to see the cheetahs up close and watch them eat. We stayed one night in September and would definitely recommend the Game Ranch. The room was very spacious, though it had no bathroom door, and the food was delicious. Staff were kind. It was a little difficult to find, though maybe that was just because it was our first night in Namibia and we weren't used to the roads yet.
