The evening drive with Andreas was a highlight: we saw giraffe, oryx, springbok, ostrich and rhinos, then stopped for sunset drinks. The horizon pool overlooks a wildlife watering hole, too. I was with a group of 16, and the staff made us feel like family. I loved that the place felt different from a standard lodge. My only complaint was that there wasn't a vegetarian option.

The food was good, though lunch was poorly organized, with only a couple of salads or toast options. Breakfast was tasty but the buffet was a little limited, and you could add eggs prepared in different ways. Dinner had a set daily menu with two main courses to choose from. The staff were kind and attentive. Our room was spacious and had air conditioning and a mini-fridge. There's a pool, but when we tried it in mid-August the water was really cold. The lodge is in a reserve in the Kalahari Desert, and the evening game drive let us see various animals and enjoy an aperitif at sunset.

The Bushman Walk with the San people, the quad bike tour, and the game drive with a sunset snack were all great. Antelopes, and even giraffes, wandered right past camp. The chef made delicious buffet meals fresh off the grill, and the lodges are spread out nicely without being far from the main building where meals are served. We started our Namibia tour here and had a wonderful time. The staff were cheerful and welcoming, and we enjoyed chatting with them. If you want to properly unwind and forget daily life for a while, this is a lovely place to do it.
