Mariental Hotel

The rooms were spacious and clean, and although we were the only guests, the staff went out of their way to prepare a great dinner. They even opened the bar especially for us. Breakfast was disappointing, though, and WiFi only worked in the main hotel, not in our rooms. We were 3 out of 5 guests in the hotel. When we arrived, the entrance was locked.

The room I slept in was super clean and fresh 🎉. The secretary gave us a great, warm welcome, and the chefs were 5 star. Best service ever.

I only visited Mariental Hotel for a meal, not an overnight stay, though I did peek at the rooms. They looked clean, cozy and affordable, and I'd feel confident staying there. The dining room has pleasant decor and music that gives the place a nice, comfortable atmosphere. The food was the standout for me: tasty, satisfying and very affordable, with generous portions. Service was friendly enough but inconsistent, and the attentiveness and speed could be better. The wine selection was very limited, which may disappoint someone like me who enjoys wine. Mariental Hotel has a lot going for it as a place for an affordable meal, and better service and more wine options would improve the experience.

Cockroaches were in the dining room at breakfast, and we had to kill more than 2. The rooms were very outdated. The TV was old and didn't work properly, with only 2 channels and no sound. The shower had no hot water until we asked them to switch on the geyser, and the whole floor was wet afterward. The aircons are so old you can barely call them aircons, it's just air. Management was very rude to us as guests. I wouldn't recommend this place and won't stay there again.
