Lüderitz Nest Hotel

The food was one of the best parts of our stay. Breakfast had plenty of choices for different dietary needs, and dinner was very good too, with fresh seafood. Our ocean-facing room was great. For the best morning and evening views, try to book on the 1st or 2nd floor. We also had a wonderful boat trip with penguin tours. The receptionists can share the details. We visited the marine museum, the famous ghost town, Kolmanskop, the Diaz cross and Luderitz museum as well. The staff and rooms were well organised, and staying at The Nest Hotel made our time in Luderitz especially enjoyable.

The views are stunning, and the staff were polite. The rugs in the rooms could use a deep clean or replacing. Breakfast was disappointing: the food quality was below what I expected, and cappuccino, americano or any coffee beyond filter came at an extra cost. For what you pay, the quality doesn’t really match.

After a long drive, we pulled in for a quick cold drink and ended up glad we stopped. The ocean views were beautiful, and our waiter was warm and attentive, so we felt at home. Just the right place to take a breather with a drink and a great view.

The view across the sea from the rooms is amazing, and the rooms themselves are beautiful. We enjoyed the food, though the servings were enormous. I was a little disappointed that breakfast didn’t include coffee.
