The bird table was a lovely touch, with a few unusual birds stopping by. Our room and bathroom were good, and breakfast was very good too. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful, and finding Cornerstone was easy when we arrived in early May 2026. We could walk to pretty much everything in Swakopmund, and the area felt safe. We still took the usual precautions, of course. We even walked back from dinner after dark. The Tug was our pick for fish, though booking ahead may be needed. It was simple to book online. Parking and entry felt secure. We'd happily recommend staying here.

The Cornerstone Guesthouse has just 9 or 10 rooms, so booking ahead in peak season seems sensible. It’s also well placed, with the excellent Altstadt Restaurant only 150 metres away, and you can park your vehicle inside the property. We stayed in January 2026 and found the place beautiful and cosy. Our room was very well equipped, and breakfast was excellent. Highly recommended!

The beach, pier, and most of the good restaurants are an easy walk from this centrally located guesthouse. The owners and staff were lovely, and breakfast was great. They also went out of their way to help us. We left a newly bought hat behind, and while we were travelling in Namibia they sent it on to our final overnight stop in Windhoek. They must have checked with our travel agent to get the details. A big thank you to our hosts!

We spent five nights here and found the guesthouse lovely, spotless, and nicely set out in a pretty garden. The breakfast was a great start to the day, with a really good range of cooked options. It’s about a ten-minute walk into the centre of Swakopmond. Tour operators can pick you up if you arrange it. Everyone at Cornerstones was helpful and professional. We’re very happy to recommend this little guesthouse.
