Dunedin Star Guesthouse

About 800 m east of the town center, The Dunedin Star Guest House is an easy walk into town. The office did our laundry the same day, and breakfast was decent, with hot eggs, bacon and tomato plus cereals.

The real highlight for me was Delina, the resident massage therapist. She works in a lovely, cozy wooden structure on the property and was flexible about timing. Her massage was excellent, using strong, intuitive hands and hot stones to work and warm the muscles. She's professional, committed and very kind, and her rates are good too. Don't miss her. The Dunedin Star Guesthouse itself is pleasant, clean and well run. Breakfast was generous, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable, but it was cold, and we could hear people in other rooms through the thin walls. The staff were wonderful, warm and helpful. They got a full bag of laundry back to us in three hours, clean and neatly folded. Breakfast was amazing too, eggs, bacon, sausages and toast arrived quickly and were cooked perfectly. Thanks, chef. The one thing that really bothered us was the woman selling massages. She kept pressing her brochure on us from the moment we arrived, while we were sorting out the rooms. In the morning she was sitting opposite our door and pushing it at us again. It felt creepy and put us off completely. Apparently her daughter gives the massages, so the way she was promoting them was doing her daughter a disservice.

The rooms are small and don't have a desk or chair, but they're neat. The premises are very clean and well kept.
