Sea Breeze Guesthouse

The staff were consistently friendly, and my room was clean and comfortable. The lodge doesn't serve meals, but breakfast was good and well prepared. Several city centre restaurants are within a ten-minute drive, and they can offer recommendations or book for you. I went with tips from friends, and there are plenty of good options around. The property has a clean, modern design in a safe area, with working WiFi and mobile coverage. Private parking is a real plus, especially the plug for a 4x4 fridge, which is extremely useful when travelling through Namibia. My only suggestion would be to replace the mattress, which felt slightly worn. Otherwise everything worked well and I enjoyed my stay.

This family-run guesthouse is clean, modern, and in a safe area, with ample room for several large 4x4 vehicles. You can book laundry service and excursions on request, and German is spoken. There's also a refrigerator in the breakfast room with a good selection of wine, beer, and other drinks, handy if the liquor store is closed on Sunday or after work. If safety is your main concern while comparing places, you've found yours.

The staff were very nice, and the self service bar was handy. We had a great time, with a good bathroom and large, comfortable rooms.

The room was tiny and really only suited for sleeping, which by itself would have been fine. But the ceiling was very low, and the little dehumidifier didn't do enough during the nights. We slept badly and left Swakopmund tired and miserable after three nights, with no refunds allowed. On arrival the room wasn't very clean, the toilet seat was broken, and the shower window was hard to open and close. It looked straight into and out from a communal area where people hung up washing. The place looked awesome online, but reality was a little different.
