We found the wooden chalets’ setting really appealing. Being raised on stilts gives each one a private, comfortable feel while still surrounded by nature. The room was clean and cozy, and had what we needed. There’s no air conditioning, but the sea breeze kept things comfortable during our stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful from the start, and breakfast had plenty of choice and fresh ingredients.

It feels tucked away in the countryside, though the city centre is only minutes off. Restaurants are nearby, and you can walk down past about 40 camels on the dunes to the lagoon or shore. The Swakopmund Aquarium is close too, though it was closed for renovations while we were there. The chalets sit on stilts and connect by wooden walkways, including routes to the breakfast room and sunset deck. Our room was roomy and comfortable, with a small balcony that was much appreciated in the hot May weather. Breakfast was part of the room price, with a continental spread, homemade bread and fresh fruit, then eggs made to order, sweet treats and cappuccino. A really lovely place.

We first stayed here 15 years ago and came back for a short visit this week. The staff were fantastic, especially Johnny, the night security man who has been there for 20 years. I love the unusual cabins on stilts over the beach, most with lovely sea views. They also have stunning three-bedroom Villas that would suit families or groups of friends. Hope to stay again.

Everything was neat, clean, and working, and the accommodation is very well run. We loved the setting. The included breakfast was really yummy too. Kudos to management.

We were there for three nights and really enjoyed the excellent breakfast. The restaurant suggestions in town were great as well.
