Ethithiya Boutique Guesthouse

The customer service was horrible. We had confirmed check-in for 11, but arrived at 12 and then waited two hours for the room after being told it would take only 30 minutes. The room was small and dark, the handbasin was broken, and the windows had no handles. It looked nothing like the advertised pictures. We left and booked somewhere else.

We left our camera there before the tours the next day, then came back for it, but apparently it wasn't there. Guesthouse staff should keep customers' belongings when they're forgotten. That's how you lose regular customers. Very disappointed 😞

Money was stolen from my colleague's clothes inside the wardrobe. When we reported it, the owner said his staff don't steal. I asked for a polygraph and offered to pay for it. The test was done on the woman who cleaned the room, and she failed. The owner reluctantly returned the money, but we still haven't received any apology. She was back at work the next day, despite the admission that this had happened before. Stay away.

My first stay was lovely, with a spacious room that felt like good value. On the second visit, the room was smaller and below what I'd expected after that first experience, and the AC wasn't working. The staff are very helpful and quick to respond to questions.
