Hotel Hibiscus

We came in for dinner and found the restaurant badly understaffed. One waitress was setting tables and taking orders for both food and drinks, clearly under pressure. It took around 45 minutes for our meal to arrive. The Rib-Eye was so tough I couldn't eat it after a few bites, and my partner left hers too. When I raised it at reception, the Lady was rude and said it couldn't have been bad because I'd tried some. I asked how I could know it was tough without tasting it. She took the plates but still charged us, despite the meal being overpriced. After I complained, she and a younger girl from the office suddenly started helping out with service, apparently realizing the waitress couldn't manage the workload alone. The way we were treated felt extremely rude and arrogant. The rooms looked dated and nothing special. We were glad we'd booked elsewhere down the road, where the hotel was newer and neater, the staff friendly, and the building set back from the road with no traffic noise. This hotel is right in town on the main road, and the noise is definitely an issue. If you want to fly, this experience is good, but I'd stay somewhere else. There's also a beautiful resort at Tieti across the island, about 1 hours drive away, which I would recommend. I will not be back at Hotel Hibiscus ........EVER !!!

The gardens were beautiful, full of flowers, and breakfast by the pool was a treat. There was endless good espresso from the coffee machine, plus plenty of pastries, bread, sweet treats, exotic preserves, and juices. We were especially grateful for how warmly the staff looked after us when we arrived at hibiscus hôtel at 9 pm without a place to stay, with sleeping in our tiny rental car as the next option. They found us a room, arranged room service with gorgeous tuna and octopus salads, and offered us drinks even though the evening was winding down. The staff were so good to us. The owner is lovely, and we had a good chat with help from my phone's translator app. Merci beaucoup hibiscus hôtel, and thank you all!

The employees gave very good service, but the accommodation was mediocre, noisy, and had dirty, poorly maintained air conditioning. The management was simply deplorable. The manager was condescending and dishonest when discussing things with us. Check your invoices carefully, and don't expect to get your money back if you happen to trust the people who prepare them when you leave.

Breakfast was very, very good, especially the individual pot-set yoghurts served perfectly chilled. We also got the package with the microlight flight, which was really good value. There's a rooftop hammam too. A beautiful boutique hotel.
