Agura hitel once had a big reputation in Abuja, and it's in a very secure area right by defense Hq! The site is huge, with room for hundreds of cars at once, an Olympic-size pool, and nicely designed bars. The old architecture is spacious and clearly due for a major facelift, maybe a full overhaul. Everything was planned well, and the large grounds could support luxury or other developments, but when I last visited it felt like a shadow of itself, perhaps because of financial problems in management. I really hope this billion-naira business turns around soon.

It's near the central business area, right in the middle of the capital. The main thing I can vouch for is the security: it's opposite Nigerian army headquarters, with an army tent beside the entrance, which makes it one of the safest hotels in Abuja. Rooms are usually available for booking and check-in.
