What keeps bringing me back is the food and the other courteous staff. Kudos to them. But my experiences with Franca have been poor, and this isn’t the first time. I’ve stayed at Bon Hotel Octagon twice, and she showed the same attitude both times. A friend noticed it too. On the phone, the reservation officer was rude and abrupt, kept cutting me off while I explained what I needed, and showed no basic telephone etiquette. Even if there are no rooms, there are ways to say so. There was no courtesy, willingness to help, or effort to communicate properly. I felt dismissed and disrespected, and it reflects badly on the hotel. For someone handling reservations and guest communication, that attitude and lack of professionalism are unacceptable. Bon Hotel Octagon should review how its reservations team behaves, especially Franca. Interactions like this can easily drive guests away.

The pool area works well for a swim or getting some work done, though the music can get loud at times. There’s also enough equipment in the gym for a morning or evening workout. My room was cozy, with a great view, and the service was lovely from reception through to the bar and restaurant.

I loved the art pieces placed around Bon Hotel, and I enjoyed every night of my stay. The bed was so comfortable, the hot water was just right, and the food was great. Staff were welcoming too. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

The welcome note was handwritten and warm, with chocolate cookies and a little bottle of wine. I’d never had that kind of welcome before. Breakfast was a real highlight too, especially finding rice and beans one morning. The room felt comfortable, and the staff were generally friendly. There’s a visitor toilet by reception. One thing caught me off guard: a porter told my colleagues and me we couldn’t bring outside food into the hotel when we returned with packed lunches. Apart from that, I enjoyed the stay.

I left some clothes behind when I checked out, and the hotel contacted me to help get them back. I thought that was really nice. The food was good too.
